CDC Antibiotic Instructional Use

Project Overview: As an instructional designer, I embarked on the mission to educate and empower patients regarding the responsible use of antibiotics, particularly emphasizing their potential adverse effects. This endeavor was carried out in the year 2022, with the aim of providing essential knowledge to individuals in need of antibiotic treatment.

Design Challenge: The challenge at hand was to transform existing online information into a dynamic and engaging learning tool. Our goal was to foster a deeper understanding among patients about the significance of responsible antibiotic use. This was achieved by leveraging the capabilities of Articulate Storyline 360, a versatile eLearning tool.

Approach to Design: My design approach followed a structured methodology:

  1. Content Analysis: A comprehensive review of CDC information highlighted the potential for greater engagement through an interactive learning experience. We recognized that interactivity would empower patients to make informed choices about antibiotic usage.
  2. Conceptualization: To bring this vision to life, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop were employed to create visually captivating patient education animations. A cohesive color scheme was meticulously crafted to ensure a visually appealing and consistent experience.
  3. Development Phase: Articulate Storyline 360 emerged as our primary canvas for crafting the educational module. This versatile platform allowed us to infuse the program with dynamic animations, immersive sound elements, and intuitive interactive navigation.
  4. Implementation: Upon completion, the module was seamlessly integrated into the eLearning landscape, utilizing Articulate Storyline 360’s capabilities. It was thoughtfully compressed to enhance accessibility and subsequently uploaded to a WordPress site for widespread dissemination.

Our journey yielded valuable insights into the power of Articulate Storyline 360 as an effective tool for delivering interactive lessons via web-based platforms. This accessibility empowers patients to engage with educational content in an interactive and user-friendly manner.
